Zoom Webinar vs GoTo Webinar vs Demio: Webinar Platform Pricing
A webinar platform is not priced like a meeting tool. A meeting tool charges per user and caps the room; a webinar platform charges per host, then charges again for the size of the audience — and the tiers do not line up between vendors. Zoom's smallest licence covers 500 attendees, GoTo's 250, Demio's 50. That one difference decides which platform is cheapest for you: the cheapest price at 100 attendees is not the cheapest at 1,000.
This playbook prices all three from the vendors' own pricing pages as read on 7 November 2026, runs the same three audience sizes through each of them, and shows every step of the arithmetic. GoTo's page refused automated access that day, so its figures are corroborated across four independent 2026 reads.
The three price ladders, side by side
Each vendor sells a ladder, not a price. The entry rung is the least useful number in the comparison, because it buys a different audience on each platform: 500 seats on Zoom, 250 on GoTo, 50 on Demio.
| Platform | Entry plan | Annual billing | Monthly billing | Entry audience |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Zoom Webinars | Webinars | $83.33/user/mo ($1,000/yr) | $129/user/mo | 500 |
| GoTo Webinar | Lite | $49/organizer/mo ($588/yr) | $59/organizer/mo | 250 |
| Demio | Starter | $45/host/mo ($540/yr) | $63/host/mo | 50 |
Sources: zoom.com/en/products/webinars and demio.com/pricing, read 7 November 2026; GoTo figures corroborated across four 2026 reads. Prices in US dollars before tax. Demio's entry price is the lowest and the least useful: a 50-attendee room fits almost no commercial programme, so Growth is the realistic starting point.
> [!KEY TAKEAWAY]
> Compare webinar platforms at your audience size, not at their entry price. The entry price buys 50 seats on Demio, 250 on GoTo, and 500 on Zoom.
Zoom Webinars: the 500-seat floor
Zoom sells Webinars as its own plan in three tiers. Webinars costs $83.33 per user per month billed annually ($1,000 a year), or $129 billed monthly, for up to 500 attendees, with branded registration, polls, Q&A, chat, reactions, breakout rooms, AI captions in 20+ languages, and streaming to YouTube, LinkedIn, and Facebook. Webinars Plus costs $290.83 billed annually ($3,490 a year) or $349 billed monthly, and adds pre-recorded sessions run as if live plus a backstage. Events costs $415.83 billed annually ($4,990 a year) or $499 billed monthly, and adds multi-session events.
Above 500 the price is set per tier: a 1,000-attendee licence costs $3,400 a year, read from Zoom's own pages on 18 October 2026; the ceiling is 100,000. There is no free plan or trial for webinars. One warning: older 2026 guides describe Webinars as an add-on over a paid Workplace Pro licence (~$159 a year); confirm at checkout whether a separate licence is still expected. The 500-seat floor means no step-up fee between 100 and 500 attendees — but a 100-person webinar pays for 500 seats. For meetings rather than webinars, see Zoom vs Google Meet vs Microsoft Teams: video conferencing pricing.
GoTo Webinar: the per-organizer ladder
GoTo Webinar sells four tiers that differ mainly in audience size. Lite costs $49 per organizer per month billed annually ($588 a year) or $59 billed monthly, for up to 250 participants. Standard costs $99 billed annually ($1,188 a year) or $129 billed monthly, for 500. Pro costs $199 billed annually ($2,388 a year) or $249 billed monthly, for 1,000. Enterprise costs $399 billed annually ($4,788 a year) or $499 billed monthly, for 3,000. Pricing is per organizer, so a second organizer doubles the bill.
Every tier includes polls, Q&A, handouts, recording, custom registration pages, automated emails, analytics, and webcast mode — attendees join from a browser without downloading software. The gated features are the ones a lead-generation programme eventually needs: unlimited cloud storage and automated webinars are Pro and Enterprise only, as are CRM integration, YouTube sharing, video embedding, and accepting payments. GoTo Meeting is included on every tier except Lite. The 7-day free trial does not ask for a credit card — the only one of the three you can test with a real audience before paying.
!GoTo Webinar plan ladder: Lite $49, Standard $99, Pro $199
> [!TIP]
> If your audience sits between 100 and 250, confirm GoTo's Lite cap before you pay: the older 100-participant figure still circulates in 2026 roundups, and the 250-participant cap is what makes Lite the cheapest seat at 100 attendees.
Demio: priced by room, not by plan
Demio prices by attendee room inside each plan, so the same plan name can cost four different amounts. Starter costs $45 per host per month billed annually ($540 a year) or $63 billed monthly, for one host and a 50-attendee room. Growth is priced per host and rises with the room: $80 a month billed annually for 150 attendees, $196 for 500, $303 for 1,000, and $606 for 3,000; paid monthly, the same rooms cost $117, $277, $427, and $855. Premium runs $196, $294, $392, and $785 a month billed annually for the same four rooms. Premium monthly prices were not published in the page data read for this guide, so they are not printed here.
The differences are about production, not audience. Automation, on-demand webinars, custom branding, custom form fields, and source tracking arrive on Growth; Premium adds custom domains, premium integrations (HubSpot, Salesforce, Marketo, Pardot, OpenReel), a dedicated success manager, and priority support. Limits run 3, 8, and 10 hours; stage capacity 4, 6, and 10; event admins 15, 25, and 50. Everything runs in the browser; the 14-day trial carries Growth features.
Demio's trap is the room selector: comparing the $80 Growth figure against GoTo's $99 Standard figure compares a 150-attendee room against a 500-attendee room. At the same audience size Demio is the most expensive of the three; its case is a branded room and earlier automation.
> [!WARNING]
> Demio's Growth price is not one number. It is $80 a month for 150 attendees and $303 a month for 1,000, on the same plan name. Quote the room, not the plan, or your budget will be wrong by nearly four times.
The worked math: 100 attendees
At 100 attendees GoTo wins by a wide margin: the only platform whose entry tier fits the audience without waste. One host, 12 webinars a year.
$83.33 \times 12 = 999.96 \approx 1{,}000$
Zoom: $1,000 a year, $83.33 per webinar, $0.83 per attendee per webinar — but it buys 500 seats for a 100-person audience.
$49 \times 12 = 588$
GoTo Lite: $588 a year, $49.00 per webinar, $0.49 per attendee per webinar; the 250-participant cap covers 100 attendees with room to grow.
$80 \times 12 = 960$
Demio Growth, 150-attendee room: $960 a year, $80.00 per webinar, $0.80 per attendee per webinar. Starter cannot be used here: its 50-attendee room is too small. Annual totals at 100 attendees: GoTo $588, Demio $960, Zoom $1,000.
The worked math: 500 attendees
At 500 attendees the ranking flips: Zoom's 500-seat floor stops being waste.
$83.33 \times 12 = 999.96 \approx 1{,}000$
Zoom: $1,000 a year, $83.33 per webinar — $0.17 per attendee per webinar, the lowest per-seat cost of the three at this size.
$99 \times 12 = 1{,}188$
GoTo Standard: $1,188 a year, $99.00 per webinar, $0.20 per attendee per webinar — $188 a year more than Zoom.
$196 \times 12 = 2{,}352$
Demio Growth, 500-attendee room: $2,352 a year, $196.00 per webinar, $0.39 per attendee per webinar — a $1,352 annual premium over Zoom for the branded room. Annual totals at 500 attendees: Zoom $1,000, GoTo $1,188, Demio $2,352.
The worked math: 1,000 attendees
At 1,000 attendees the ranking flips again: GoTo retakes the lead.
$3{,}400 \div 12 = 283.33$
Zoom's 1,000-attendee licence costs $3,400 a year — $283.33 a month on an annual-equivalent basis, $283.33 per webinar, $0.28 per attendee per webinar.
$199 \times 12 = 2{,}388$
GoTo Pro: $2,388 a year, $199.00 per webinar, $0.20 per attendee per webinar — $1,012 a year cheaper than Zoom, and it unlocks unlimited storage, automated webinars, and CRM integration.
$303 \times 12 = 3{,}636$
Demio Growth, 1,000-attendee room: $3,636 a year, $303.00 per webinar, $0.30 per attendee per webinar. Demio is the most expensive at 1,000 attendees too; the gap to GoTo is $1,248 a year. Annual totals at 1,000 attendees: GoTo $2,388, Zoom $3,400, Demio $3,636. Paid monthly, GoTo Pro costs $2,988 a year and Demio Growth costs $5,124.
Monthly billing: the penalty for paying month to month
$129 \times 12 = 1{,}548$
Zoom Webinars costs $129 a month billed monthly, annualising to $1,548 against the $1,000 annual total — a penalty of $548 a year, or 54.8 percent more, the steepest of the three.
$129 \times 12 = 1{,}548$
GoTo Standard also costs $129 a month billed monthly, annualising to $1,548 against its $1,188 annual total — a penalty of $360 a year, or 30.3 percent more.
$277 \times 12 = 3{,}324$
Demio Growth with a 500-attendee room costs $277 a month billed monthly, annualising to $3,324 against its $2,352 annual total — a penalty of $972 a year, or 41.3 percent more, the largest in dollars. If you will run webinars for a full year, pay annually; monthly billing suits only a short programme, where the option to stop outweighs a 30 to 55 percent surcharge.
Registration and engagement: what each tier actually includes
| Feature | Zoom Webinars ($83.33/mo) | GoTo Standard ($99/mo) | Demio Growth 500-room ($196/mo) | Authority |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Registration | Branded pages, emails | Custom pages, source tracking | Custom pages, fields, tracking | Vendor pages |
| Polls and Q&A | Live polls, Q&A | Polls, Q&A | Polls, chat Q&A | Vendor pages |
| Handouts | Not listed | All plans | Plus featured actions | Vendor pages |
| Recording | Cloud recording | Recording; unlimited on Pro | Recording; transcripts on Premium | Vendor pages |
| Automated webinars | Plus only ($290.83/mo) | Pro only ($199/mo) | Yes, on Growth | Vendor pages |
The feature that most often forces an upgrade is automated webinars — a pre-recorded session that runs as if live. On Demio it arrives on Growth. On GoTo it requires Pro: at 500 attendees, the 1,000-participant tier at $199 a month instead of Standard at $99. On Zoom it requires Webinars Plus at $290.83 a month. For an evergreen-replay programme, that single feature reorders the comparison: Demio Growth at $196 a month is the cheapest route to automation at 500 attendees.
Paying for it: the business side of a webinar subscription
The price on the pricing page is not the whole cost. All three vendors bill in US dollars, so a buyer outside the United States pays a foreign-exchange spread unless the card or bank settles in dollars; an ACH transfer avoids card FX fees where offered. A US buyer should have the vendor's W-9 on file before the first invoice over $600 in a year; a non-US buyer will usually be asked for a W-8BEN, with the vendor's EIN on the invoice.
Entity type does not change the price — an LLC, an S-Corp, and a C-Corp all pay the same $83.33, $99, or $196 — but it changes who signs and how the cost is treated. Under GAAP, an annual subscription paid up front is a prepaid expense amortised month by month — which is why this guide compares annualised totals. A CPA will want the invoice, the billing term, and the attendee tier on one document — the tier proves the business purpose if the deduction is ever questioned, so keep the receipt that shows the room size. Run the resulting monthly cost through the Business Profit Margin Calculator before you commit to the annual term.
Which platform for which operator
| Operator | Audience | Pick | Why | Authority |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Solo creator testing webinars | Up to 100 | GoTo Lite | $588/yr, 7-day trial | GoTo pricing 2026 |
| Growing team, live weekly webinars | 500 | Zoom Webinars | $1,000/yr, lowest per-seat cost | zoom.com |
| Evergreen, automated programme | 500 | Demio Growth | Automation included at $196/mo | demio.com/pricing |
| Lead generation at scale | 1,000 | GoTo Pro | $2,388/yr, CRM included | GoTo pricing, corroborated 2026 |
If your webinars carry sponsors, the CPM math in the podcast advertising CPM and sponsorship pricing playbook applies to webinar slots too: a $500 sponsor slot on a 500-attendee webinar covers half the annual Zoom licence.
> [!FOUNDER]
> "Every vendor in this guide sells you the same promise: a room full of people who showed up to listen. The price difference is never about the room. It is about what happens after the room empties — whether you keep the recording, the registration list, and the poll answers, or paid for an hour of attention and kept none of it. Buy the platform that hands you the audience afterwards, not the one with the lowest first invoice."

Execution checklist: buying a webinar platform in one week
Step 1. Count your real audience: use the largest attendance of your last four webinars, or your honest forecast for the next four.
Step 2. Pick the tier that fits that number on each platform, using the room or participant cap — and note Demio's room size and GoTo's organizer count.
Step 3. Run the annual total for your audience size on all three platforms; if two land within 10 percent, the decision is about features.
Step 4. Check the automation question: if you will replay sessions as if live, price the automation tier on each platform — Demio Growth, GoTo Pro, Zoom Plus — and redo the comparison there.
Step 5. Take the free trial where one exists, and run one real webinar on it.
Step 6. Confirm the billing term in writing before you pay: annual billing saves 30 to 55 percent at 500 attendees, but only for a full year.
Step 7. File the invoice with the tier and room size attached, and diary the renewal date — all three vendors renew automatically.
What to verify before you pay
Prices move: this guide is a snapshot dated 7 November 2026, not a quote. Four live checks before money moves: open goto.com/webinar/pricing yourself, since GoTo's figures here rest on four corroborating 2026 reads rather than the vendor page; confirm GoTo's Lite cap if your audience sits between 100 and 250; get Demio's Premium monthly price and Zoom's monthly 1,000-attendee price from the vendors; and confirm at checkout whether your Zoom account already holds the base licence the plan expects. The cheapest platform here is the one whose price you verified.
